New Changes in Australian Students Visa 2011

Australia's student visas requirements have been changed. Besides lesser financial and documentary requirements for students,the changes will be also allow two to four year,post-study work visa for university graduates depending on the level of study completed.

The changes are in response to the report by the Michael Knight AO on the Strategic Review of the Australian Student Visa Programme 2011, which was released on September 22, 2011

GIIS Singapore Scholarships 2011

For Standards 11 and 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) and CBSE

Global Indian International Schools (GIIS) are one of the Asia's largest Network of International schools with 21 schools across and countries. GIIS Singapore is the recipient of the prestigious International APQO Award for Education Excellence for 2010 and India's National Quality Trophy (IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award) for 2010.

2011 GIIS Junior College Scholarships at Singapore
2 year Scholarships sponsored by the Global Indian Foundation for studying at GIIS Singapore will be awarded for standards 11 and 12, CBSE or IB, for the 2011-13 session. The scholarship worth US$66,000* per student includes all tuition fees and boarding expenses. This scholarship amount also includes an annual allowance of US$2400, settling allowance of US$500, one time return airfare from India to Singapore. Subsidized medical benefits will also be given. No bond is attached to the GIIS Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 85% or equivalent grade in Std. 10 pre-board exam, in Stds 8 & 9 final exams, CBSE or IGCSE or any State Board (with English as 1st language). Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test in mid April 2011 to be held at Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Surat and Trichy. Written test will include General Ability, Mathematics and English. Interviews will be held in June 2011. Board Exam mark sheets to be provided on declaration of results. Students are expected to leave for Singapore by end June 2011.

La Trobe University Biomarker Translation Scholarships

Established in 1964, La Trobe University is a leading research University based in Australia. The University has recently been selected by the Victorian State Government to set up AgriBio, the Centre for AgriBioscience, as its Melbourne campus and is keen to attract international scholars to study at its state-of-the-art facilities.

A total of A$600 000worth of scholarships are available for the Master of Biotechnology and Master of Business Administration double degree program with commencing dates in March and July 2011. Details of the courses can be viewed at latrobe.edu.au/coursefinder.

This scholarship is offered to students holding a degree with a specialization in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology or genetics, and it will cover A$20 000 per year for the two year program.
