Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 11-16, 2008

Intel International Science
and Engineering Fair 2008
Presented by Agilent Technologies
Atlanta, Georgia USA
May 11-16, 2008

The worlds best young scientists, including many Georgia students, will be “Uniting the World Through Science” in Atlanta at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2008 (Intel ISEF) May 11-16, 2008. During Intel ISEF, these students will be inspired by Nobel Laureates, academicians, and leading scientists and researchers from our city of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, and around the world.

This is the culminating event for a network of science fairs held around the world. These students have acquired skills in identifying and isolating important problems or questions; planning for the solution of problems or the answers to questions; using organized, logical thought and study to reach conclusions; and verbal and visual communication. Students bring projects which represent many months, and sometime years, of concentrated research. They have done science! What every employer wants, right?

Participation in this network of science fairs provide employers with a pool of potential employees having the skills and knowledge of strategies necessary to be leaders in technology, medicine and health, agriculture, environmental science, and engineering.

Their work will be judged by professional scientists. The judges look for a communicative presentation, and more importantly, for the basic understanding the students have of their research and for new knowledge the student has gained through the process.

Gathering at the Georgia World Congress Center; and in various other local forums next May, the world’s top scientists and researchers of all ages will share ideas; engage in formal and informal discussions and presentations; participate in formal judging and presentation; and be recognized for their excellence on a national and international stage.

Georgia, and the city of Atlanta, are honored to host this annual event. The Intel ISEF is the crowning achievement, the Olympics of science competitions in the United States, and around the world.
